Hi there! Nice to meet you

Hello! I’m Asako, a nationally certified tour guide. I grew up in Fukui, and have a deep love for its culture and history. I’d love to share it with you! I’ve worked in many jobs where people come first, and I truly enjoy the chance to meet someone new. I also love gardening, painting, writing haiku, qigong, and exploring local cuisine. Fukui is rich in nature, fresh food, warm-hearted people, and deep history. I’d be happy to show you as much of it as you want! Just right outside Fukui Station are castle ruins and a beautiful l garden owned by a feudal lord. Unlike big cities, in Fukui, you can enjoy a more relaxed and authentic Japanese lifestyle. Let’s explore together and enjoy places that immerse you in Fukui’s everyday charms! For those who love sightseeing by bus or taxi, there are tons of Fukui hotspots. Popular places you can see include Eiheiji Zen Temple, the head temple of the Soto Zen School of Buddhism. The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is also ranked in the top three dino museums worldwide! Fukui also offers unique traditional crafts, such as cutting knives in Echizen, or traditional crafts like handmade Japanese paper and lacquerware. All of these products are praised by many chefs and artisans around the world. Why not embark on an adventure to discover these fascinating traditions and make memories.? In addition to guiding you through famous tourist sites, I’ll make sure to immerse you in local life in Japan. Whether it’s Japanese shrines and temples, everyday life events, or cultural concepts like ‘wabi-sabi’, there’s so much more than just surface-level sensation. My mission is to help you gain deeper enjoyment and appreciation of Japan’s unique culture, traditions, and history. Come visit and enjoy an authentic local journey throughout Fukui. I look forward to welcoming you and seeing you enjoy yourself!
