In the words of the Italian Italo Calvino “the city doesn’t let go of its past, it keeps it like the lines of one’s hand, keeps it written in street corners, in the railings of windows, in the bannisters of stairways, in flag poles, in lightning rods and skylights.. And which one with its own marks, cuts and engravings. A story within the story.” Therefore this is much of my own journey of discovery Porto but also a story of sharing its monumentality and its mundane lives in equal footing.
